The ‘early’ January sales

Today’s blog post is about my trip to the ‘early’ January sales. I had loads of fun.

Every year I love going out to look for new Christmas decorations that I always put away for the next time around. This year has been no exception. I have been particularly excited this year because next year I want to be able to decorate our conservatory, which is currently empty. It has been fun having a project to work on, so I have been checking out home magazines, blogs and all the rest and pinning ideas on Pinterest as to a theme for the Christmas decorations for next year.

Basically, I would love a tree / theme like this one features on the Canadian Log Homes website.  I would describe it as a Winter White Woodland look.

So, yesterday was all about shopping in the sales at Bents, Dunelm Mill and Matalan. Georgie came too and for once enjoyed herself immensely because a) she liked the cafe at Bents and eating a scone with cream and jam with Grandma and Grandad and b) she found they sold Season 4 Shopkins (which are from another world – aka weren’t available here until very recently but were available in the states).

Bents is the place to go for Christmas decorations. On the run up to Christmas they put up really amazing displays, and literally have every type of decoration you can think of. It is also quite expensive, so every year on the first day of the sales when the Christmas range is reduced by 50% there are always loads of people there, buying up decorations.

Out of my purchases, my two favourites were these Gisela Graham items. This snow globe is beautiful and plays music when it is wound up. It was originally £23.99 and had 50% off.

Then this large Reindeer ornament, which I like so much I think I might just keep out all year round. This was originally £39.99 and was again 50% off.

Then, a range of cute decorations. I got three of the metal heart decorations, just photographed one though because they were very challenging to get a picture of because they reflect a lot of light. Those and the woodland creatures are for me and the Gisella Graham decorations are ones I have picked up for my mum, because they will match her tree really well. They ranged from £2.99 to £3.99 each, all 50% off.

Then at Dunelm Mill I found this fab framed horse sketch print reduced to £12.49. It is 28″ square so actually a fair size. I was made up with this find as was after a piece of art to go on the wall in the hall, which has been totally bare, since we painted it. It is now up on the wall and has finished the hall off. I have now ordered one for my aunty for her birthday, as she loves horses like me.

Until next time, Hayley x
