Half term in Bath Day 5 -Bradford on Avon

I have been offline for quite a few weeks with a few things going on, so am now finally retrospectively catching up on the rest of our fab half-term break to Bath and the surrounding areas. This post relates to 17th February 2016 (can’t believe it has been so long!)

Bradford on Avon

This day we kept things quiet and went to visit the picturesque little town of Bradford on Avon. When we arrived it was grey and drizzly, so we took shelter for a hot drink. We spotted a place that looked nice called The Weaving Shed so ducked in there. It was so light and relaxing, although we weren’t ordering food the service was fantastic and I loved the hot chocolate I got.

Georgie got stuck into her scrapbook she wanted to make of our trip.

The toads of course retained pride of place, in virtually every photo we took!

After this we checked out some of the local shops.

Nosek’s Just Gems

The find of the day was a cute bead shop, see their website here.

I have never even considered looking at beads before but the owner started showing Georgie how to do Kumihimo braiding. She was fantastic at showing how to do it and Georgie was suddenly stood braiding a bracelet at high speed. We bought this kit, and Georgie had a fantastic time when we got back to the cottage making it.

Hand crafted mirrors

The other shop I liked was this mirror shop and we got a lovely hand painted mirror:

Ring O’Bells pub, Priston

After an hour back at the cottage we had an exciting five minute walk in the dark to the local pub. All I can say is best meal of the holiday by miles. This pub was so warm and friendly with great food.
