I’ve had a lovely couple of days. I had a rare weekday off on Friday, and went out for lunch with my mum. Then later that day Dave’s mam and dad came to stay, they will be with us until next Tuesday. It was raining cats and dogs all afternoon but about half six in the midst of it all, I saw a double rainbow in the back garden. It was so beautiful, and I got lucky as just managed a couple of shots before it started to fade.
Bents Garden Centre
Today, we have been for a trip to Bents, It is really near to us, but this is the first time I have been since I had the mad Christmas spending spree lol.
They always have lovely displays; this is the latest summery one showing the latest trends of tropical and woven items.
We went to the cafe for lunch. I had one of their salads, I always love these, as it is a great chance to have loads of different salad at once. I picked chicken caesar as the base. The food was lovely as usual.
After lunch we had good look around. Bent’s expanded awhile back and now has a huge food hall and separate shops including a craft shop.
As usual I did loads of window shopping! I wanted these fabulous martini glasses and a swan for the garden :). I also spent ages looking at Bomb Cosmetics, Georgie and I are really into making bath bombs at the moment but we love buying these too. Definitely on the wish list for my birthday.
Georgie had £20 off her Grandma and Grandad so had a great time in the craft shop. After about an hour looking at all kinds of things, she settled on a 24 pack of A4 felt in a range of colours (inspired by puppet making at school), a pack of ‘pick your own’ A4 card and a fox sewing kit. Paul in the craft shop was really lovely, and had loads of ideas about other things to try, and showed us a bag that had been made in the shop. The keyring was made out of Hama beads.
Georgie bought this cute little fox sewing kit, and made it as soon as she got home.
Georgie has been making puppets at school this week. She made a butterfly.
Until next time, Hayley x
